I am passionate about games.

As a lifelong gamer, I’ve decided to turn my passion into a profession. Games of all sorts have featured significantly in my life, from my first memories to where I find myself now. They have accompanied me through every life stage, offering respite and entertainment. Gaming has also brought me a fiance, friends, insight and even provided a guiding hand through its familiar nuggets of wisdom and gripping plots.

Having developed alongside games, I came to naturally understand their mechanics while assimilating further into the gaming community. By keeping my finger on the pulse of the gaming industry, I keenly followed trends, advancements, and releases. From there, my interest in mods, add-ons, and apps was sparked, enabling me to put my own spin on the games I loved. I leveraged this customizability to modify gaming worlds and enhance plots. Weaving through game play, I felt there was always room for improvement or elements that could be slightly tweaked to enhance gameplay. The immersive experience has always been at the forefront of my interest, with the aim to create new worlds and experiences for players.

When I attended university, I took my interest with me. The code behind the interface added a whole new layer of intrigue and understanding to gaming. Laying the seeds for my current trajectory, I could find links between simple code and the bigger picture. After receiving my Bachelors in 2016, I took a job in health care. There, I stayed for two years, working diligently to fund the education I knew I’d need to reach my end goal - creating fun and entertaining games. Now, expected to graduate in 2023, I’m looking forward to putting what I’ve learned to the test, working to expand my skill set, experience, and make a positive impact in the gaming industry. I’ve found that I enjoy all aspects of game creation and design.

I find that working in a team energizes me, offering a new perspective of my pre-existing thoughts, experience, and learning. My understanding is that game design requires an aptitude for quick problem solving and working under pressure all while maintaining tight deadlines. All of which I strive to achieve.

I am familiar with numerous game companies, studios, and start-ups. Having always dreamed of working among them, I have also delved into the lives and experiences of prominent game designers, hoping to one day match their likeness and strive for better.

Delving into the details behind immersion, and interaction has not dimmed my excitement for the gaming industry or my future therewithin. On the contrary, I am increasingly motivated to continue working, aiming to advance the gaming industry one game at a time.

Finally, I believe that while numerous elements go into the making of a good game designer, the most basic thing is simple – passion and a love of gaming – one thing I know will never lose.
